College Magazine Evaluation

Front Cover-
The main colour in my magazine was light blue, it worked well because it is the same colour as the Priestley signs. For my front cover I used a blue note pad to tie in the colour scheme and the model is also wearing a blue tee shirt. The girl on the front cover is looking straight into the camera, this is direct mode of address to the audience and will always work well as it will draw people into the magazine. I placed the main text 'Priestley Magazine' behind the model, showing it could be well known as even though you can really read the words people are expected to notice the text and understand the name anyway. I set the price of the magazine at £1, I thought this was quite reasonable as it is not too much money and as the target audience will be students it is well affordable by them. I added a puff onto the front cover, giving the reader the opportunity to win an iPod touch, the puff on the page stands out and attracts my target audience.

Content Page-
The content page is very busy and there is not a lot of white space, this is good and I think that content pages should always be well filled with lots of information, especially as it is the first page of the magazine. I created the content page on photo shop which I found quite easy as I have used it before in high school. I used the pictures that I took around college for this page such as the crescent café and student services. There are only 4 feature articles and 4 other articles displayed by only using pictures, I realised that this was not enough and now know to use more for the real music magazine product I will be creating soon.
